This book made me so sad and so angry. It’s a portrait of a community – the Chosen Ones, the laws within it and a 13-year old girl who wanted more, who dared to stand back.
It made me so sad because it’s so real, there really are communities like this one out there. Some people are living like this.
And so angry, who are they to decide for them how to live, to keep them in the dark, no one has the right to control another human being. They twisted religion into something that suits them.
This book touched me because I felt it very real. It’s not right how these people lived. So, whoever decides to read this book, it definitely won’t be a waste of time. It’s a heartbreaking story that won’t leave you indifferent.
