Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, Book 3)

Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins I don't remember the last time I've read a book that left me feeling so sad. There's no really happy ending in this book, because there's never a happy ending in life either. This book is so real, it speaks about us. We also play our own Hunger Games. Life is the Hunger Games. Katniss is so brave and stong, and oh how I cried for her. With her, for everything she's been through, for everything she lost. At first I liked Gale over Peeta, but in the end she ended up with Peeta and that was how it was supposed to be. He was her strenght. How she tried to keep him alive, to save him, when in the end he was the one who saved her. Things between Gale and Katniss began drifting apart, and it made me sad. I didn't like how it ended between them. Best friends for 5 years and then not even a proper goodbye. I think the author should've made some closure between them.

I feel like I've been given some sort of a gift by reading these books. They're so inspiring, beautiful, heartbreaking and real. We are all those characters, those people in districts, living and fighting. Through them we learn about ourselves, humanity, and what people are like, what they're ready for, in misery and in want for power.
These books show us how history always repeats itself, how there's never ending that satisfies all. Wars end, you can change anyting but not people. They're always the same.
